ATLANTA (CNN)– Former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants, who weredefendant in Georgiain relation to their efforts to overturn the 2020 election, they are in the process of dropping out before Friday's deadline.
These historical state chargeswere filed last week by the Fulton County District AttorneyFanny Willis, an elected Democrat who has been investigating Trump's election interference since early 2021.
Trump and the other defendants are presumed innocent at this point in the legal process. Many of those numbers have vehemently denied any wrongdoing, and some have argued that they were simply trying to correct what they believed to be serious wrongdoing that marred the 2020 election.
Here's a breakdown of who was charged in the Fulton County case and how they relate to Trump's sweeping efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 election.
